I am just dumbfounded by this attempt.

Clearly the guy is an idiot and a low-life but I doubt he purposely meant to drive into the wall. Seems like a stuck throttle or something... maybe he got overwhelmed at nearly being caught and just forgot to let go of the gas, who knows?
